Office Hours

Our office is open every day of the year in order to help us best meet your family's health care needs.  In most cases, your child's medical care will be best provided in our office, with our team that knows you and your family, rather than in an Emergency Room or other location. If you have questions about whether your child's medical condition can wait until our office opens again the following morning, please call our office to reach our after hours triage service for advice.

The phones are forwarded to our answering service for lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. In the event of an emergency during the noon hour, the answering service can always locate one of the doctors for you. As always, the answering service can be reached by calling our main office phone number.

Patients are seen by appointment only. We have tried to make our office hours as flexible as possible in order to accommodate the needs of different families. We try very hard to see all patients on time, and we ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. Appointments for routine physicals or for special problems should be scheduled well in advance so we can offer you a variety of time and date options to fit your schedule. Please notify us as soon as possible if you are unable to keep an appointment. All “sick” or urgent care appointments are booked on a same day basis. We leave time in each day’s schedule to see sick patients who need or wish to be seen that day. We ask that you call as early in the day as possible (after 8:30 a.m.) in order to help us fit your needs.

We feel strongly that each of our patients should have one individual primary care physician who knows them well and not simply be a patient of a group practice. Whenever possible, you will see your own doctor when you visit the office. If your doctor is off at that time, another one of the doctors will always be covering.

After Hours and Weekend Care

Our office is open 365 days a year.  During the typical work week, Monday - Thursday, our phones are on from 8:30 am - 6:30 pm (5:00 pm on Fridays and during July and August).  We have staff to answer questions and schedule appointments as necessary.  Should you require urgent assistance after those hours, we have an answering service and after-hours triage service available.  Simply call our regular office number and you will be directed appropriately if the office is closed.

If you are looking for non-urgent advice or you would like to schedule a same day sick visit during the week or an urgent care appointment on the weekend or holiday, you can use MyChart.

We have staff in the office on the weekends for urgent appointments. You can go onto MyChart after midnight on Saturday/Sunday (or a holiday) to schedule a same day "Urgent Care" visit with the provider on call.  In addition, you can call the office between 8:30 and 11:30 am for urgent advice.

Emergencies

If you have an after-hours emergency that needs immediate attention, bring your child to the nearest emergency room and ask them to call us for you.

Appointments

Framingham Pediatrics takes pride in offering a range of providers and appointment times to accommodate your schedule. Please call our office to schedule any appointments and our front desk staff will accommodate your desired time to the best of their ability. If you are running late or need to reschedule, please contact our office as soon as possible.

Please note that we now offer the ability to schedule sick and well visits through our Patient Portal.

Evening Hours

Framingham Pediatrics offers evening hours for scheduled and urgent appointments. A physician is available in the office Monday through Thursday evenings during the school year until 7 p.m. by appointment only.

Phone Calls

Our Call Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. daily. During this time the nurses and physicians are available to answer your questions and concerns. This is the time to call with questions about the management of an acute illness, or to discuss any concerns that you have about routine child care, behavior or development.  At other times of the day our triage nurses are always available to speak with you for telephone advice, and when the office is closed, our after hours triage service can always be reached by calling our main office phone number.

Medication Refills

You may request a medication refill by using MyChart and clicking the medication needed and choosing "refill".  If you do not see the medication on the list, you can send a "new message" to your provider using MyChart and include the following information:

  • Your name and daytime contact telephone number
  • Your child's primary care provider
  • Full name of medication, preferred formulation (liquid, chewable, tablets etc...) and directions for usage (all this information is found on the label on the medication bottle/box)
  • Name and location of the pharmacy (for example: Walgreens in Framingham on Temple Street)

Please note:

  • Medication refills will be completed by your child's provider during weekday office hours and require at least 48 hours notice.
  • Messages will not be seen on the weekends.
  • Please do NOT expect refills to be completed on the weekend.  We feel that in the interest of quality of medical care, prescriptions should be refilled by your primary care provider.
  • For ADHD and Behavioral Health medications, a follow-up visit with your provider might be required in order to receive a refill.

Referrals

Please login to MyChart to request a referral and provide the following information:

  • your best contact number, in case we have questions
  • the name of the provider being seen and NPI number (if available)
  • their office name, location and specialty
  • date and time of the appointment
  • office fax number

If you or your child does not have a MyChart account, please call the office to have one set up.
