To Our Framingham Pediatrics Family:
We are writing to ask for your partnership in a renewed effort to improve the use of technology in the care of our patients and families, especially at the annual well visit (see details below).
- Complete pre-visit surveys in MyChart before you arrive at our office.
- Surveys and the information they provide are an essential part of our care and we do review them prior to the visit.
- In the future, we expect to use this information and other new technologies in more interactive and helpful ways.
- Patients past their 13th birthday need their own MyChart account. Anybody on our team will be happy to set this up.
We ask that you make every effort to complete pre-visit surveys in MyChart before you come to your visit at our office. This will save you time at the office, will make our time together more efficient, and will in many cases help us to provide better preventive care to you or your child.
Some of you have expressed surprise that we review these surveys prior to your visit. In fact, we view this information as a very important part of the care that we provide. In addition, the system is smart enough to send additional surveys if certain concerns are apparent in your responses, and in the future we hope that the system will be able to send helpful information to you before we even see the results.
Research across the country has shown that the use of technology to help collect this information prior to office visits really does improve the quality of care provided in pediatric offices, and we have witnessed that benefit ourselves.
We know that there can be a lot of questions to complete; we complete similar surveys when we visit our own physicians, and you probably do too. Please take a moment to understand how important we feel this process is.
In order to receive and complete the surveys, patients past their 13th birthday will need their own MyChart account. We have no control over the age cutoff. It is part of federal laws aimed at providing your children access to confidential medical care. Please reach out to our staff if you need help getting your teenage child their own MyChart access. All we need is an email address and we can send a sign-up link.
Please note that if you are not able to complete the surveys before you arrive at the office, you may be asked to complete them on your phone. This could delay the start of your visit.
We greatly appreciate your cooperation in this important effort. We look forward to hearing your feedback
